George Smith

Become the 75th Australian Test Captain in 2007, leading the Wallabies against Canada at the Rugby World Cup, and broke the record for the most capped flanker, overtaking David Wilson on 79. Smith has been one of the core players for both Australia and the Brumbies in Super 14, and in 2007 won his second successive Super 14 Player of the Year award and his sixth (and fifth consecutive) Brett Robinson Award as the Brumbies Players' Player.

2005 Played his 50th Test against France at Suncorp Stadium and finished the year as the Wallabies Number 8.

2006 Played in 12 of the 13 Wallaby Tests and was named vice captain for the first time against Italy in Rome.

2007 Extended his leadership credentials by captaining the Brumbies on six occasions and took his career Super 14 caps tally to 93. Became Australia's 75th Test Captain against Canada at Rugby World Cup, broke the record for the most capped Australia flanker and played 11 of 12 Tests in 2007.
