Ireland flanker Alan Quinlan was suspended for three weeks on Wednesday for stamping on New Zealand No.8 Rodney So'oialo last weekend.
Quinlan was cautioned in the game for the incident, and conceded only a penalty to the All Blacks' in their 22-3 win on Saturday at Croke Park.
But International Rugby Board disciplinary officer Lorne Crerar said Quinlan should have been red-carded, and imposed the suspension.
Quinlan will miss playing Argentina this Saturday.
